Is it proper to put a graduation tel on display months before a graduation?

I don't graduate from high school untl June 2011, but I got my tel today. My mom told me I should put it on my car's rear view mirror until July 2011, but I'm not sure if I should because I haven't graduated yet. Is it proper/improper to?
