Am I being too clingy with my boyfriend?

My boyfriend and I live an hour apart during the summer, and only get to see each other 1-2 times a week. My boyfriend has TONS of friends and can literally find something to do at anytime. I, on the other hand, have a group of several close friends that I hang out with, and don't mind staying home a couple nights a week. But it seems like my boyfriend is constantly out and about and it can get frustrating. Because I don't get to see him very often, I like to talk to him as much as we both can. Which honestly, isn't that much. I never yell at him for being with his friends or make him talk to me while he's busy. I ask for so little of his time, and it's hard for him to give me much attention when he is constantly preoccupied. It especially saddens me because when we are at college he would call me before bed every night for a couple of hours, which was awesome. But now he is always out until after I go to bed so we can't do that as often at all. I feel weird even bringing it up to him because I don't want to appear needy or clingy. What do you think? Advice?
